That’s why we’ve partnered with PTI Security Systems to provide access to our facility and your individual storage unit through the StorID app, a state-of-the-art mobile application designed for effortless and secure entry. With StorID, you can say goodbye to traditional keys or access cards and manage your storage unit directly from your smartphone.

What is StorID?

StorID is a tenant-facing mobile app developed by PTI Security Systems, a global leader in self-storage security with over 40 years of experience and more than 40,000 installations worldwide. Available for both Android and iOS devices, StorID allows you to:

  • Access the Facility: Open gates and doors at Oceanwave Storage using your smartphone.
  • Control Your Unit: Unlock your individual storage unit equipped with PTI’s ProEdge smart lock.
  • Share Access: Securely share digital access with trusted individuals, such as family or movers, with configurable lockout settings for added security.
  • Monitor Activity: View access history to keep track of who enters your unit and when.

The app uses next-generation Bluetooth technology for fast, reliable, and secure connections, ensuring a modern and convenient storage experience.

Getting Started with StorID

Upon renting a unit at Oceanwave Storage, you’ll receive an email with detailed instructions to link the StorID app to your account. Here’s a step-by-step guide to get you started:

  1. Download the App:

  2. Receive Your Enrollment Link:

    • After renting your unit, you will receive a text message with a unique enrollment code to connect your account to the StorID app.
  3. Enroll and Set Up:

    • Open the StorID app on your smartphone to start the registration process.
    • Click the button to SIGN UP. You will need to provide your email, create a password, and enter the PIN you received in the enrollment text message.
    • After you've created an account, you'll need to Log In with your email and the password you just created.
    • Ensure your smartphone has Bluetooth and Location enabled, as StorID uses Bluetooth to communicate with the ProEdge smart lock on your unit.
  4. Enter the Building:

    • With the app running, approach the keypad next to the front door.
    • Within a few seconds, you should hear a beep and see a welcome message on the keypad screen, and the door should open
  5. Access Your Unit:

    • With the app running, go to your unit and press the button on the latch.
    • On the app, click the icon that looks like a lock, and then Drag (rather than tap) the slider to the right to unlock your unit.
  6. Troubleshooting:

    • App Issues: Some users have reported issues with StorID, such as the app hanging on the logo screen or displaying “no internet” errors. If this happens, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app, restarting your phone, or updating to the latest version.
    • Login Problems: If you can’t log in or find your username, verify your account details with Oceanwave Storage or contact PTI Security Systems’ support at 866-240-7602.
    • Enrollment Link Issues: If you don’t receive the enrollment email, check your spam folder or contact our team at Oceanwave Storage to resend the link.
    • Support: For immediate assistance, reach out to Oceanwave Storage or PTI’s support team. PTI is actively addressing user feedback to improve the app’s performance.
